Why handle book sales this way?
Since the beginning of this project, I always planned for all proceeds to benefit the Foodbank. By donating directly to the Foodbank, you not only receive credit for your donation, but you have the assurance that your booksales are going directly to the organization. We're not paying fees to Amaz0n or another middleman to process your sales before the money even reaches the charity. The Foodbank receives every bit of your $10.
Why the Foodbank?
Our Foodbanks are struggling right now as both state and federal funds are being cut, while demand for their services is higher than ever. For every $1 donated, Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank can purchase 3 meals for local people in need.
This book is a community art project, and I can think of no better way to ensure the community directly benefits from this book.
Thank you for supporting art, poetry, literature, and food security. And thank you to ArtsNow for making this project possible!
